Review Summary

Sendinblue is a freemium email marketing tool with no subscribers limitation. The premium plan cost starts at $25 per month but with lots of limitations (see them below). Apart from these limitations, it is value-for-money email marketing since there is no sending limitation or subscribers limitations. Recommended for those who don’t have a large subscriber base and don’t care about email automation too much.

What is Sendinblue?

Founded in 2012, SendinBlue is a European company that supports 6 languages that are trusted by over 300,000 customers worldwide.

It is one of the best email marketing tools in the industry and has set itself apart thanks to its price which is relatively low based on the features it offers to users.

There is no contacts limitation nor email sending limit on their pricing plans apart from the free plan that allows you to send 300 emails a day.

It comes with a built-in CRM with team management in mind and SMS marketing capability.

If you want to take a quick decision based on their pros and cons, let me get them out of this Sendinblue review.

Sendinblue Pros and Cons

The Pros

This is what I like about Sendinblue.

They offer unlimited contacts and email lists on all their pricing plans.
SMS marketing is available allowing you to connect with your subscriber with SMS messages
The possibility to build automated email flows and get your emails delivered based on your subscribers’ engagement and actions.
They offer a drag-and-drop landing page builder allowing you to build your email list with ease.
A Facebook ad management tool allowing you to run and track your Facebook ads directly from your Sendinblue dashboard.
Built-in CRM with team collaboration in mind.

The Cons

This is what I don’t like about Sendinblue.

Limited sending capability on automated emails – this is not good when you have a large subscriber base.
No live chat and phone support on the basics plans – you need to be on their higher plans.
You need to be on their higher pricing plan ($65 per month) to access their advanced email reporting features

Sendinblue features

1. Build Landing Pages Easily

One of the most powerful features of SendinBlue is that you can easily create beautiful landing pages with it. A landing page is a page on your website where you send visitors when they click on a specific link. Typically, this link is hidden in an email newsletter or advertisement and delivers targeted traffic to your website.
Landing pages are essential for driving targeted traffic to your website and boosting conversions. They also help you increase your email conversion rates and get more subscribers for your email campaigns.
The good news is that creating landing pages with SendinBlue is very easy if you’re using the business and enterprise plans.

2. Automation and Segmentation

SendinBlue allows you to set up automated workflows that trigger each time someone subscribes to your list or unsubscribes from it.
Segmentation is a must-have for any email marketing campaign. It’s the process of grouping your audience into different segments and sending messages to each group that are designed to appeal to them. Segmentation allows you to send better-targeted messages, improve your campaign’s performance and increase your profits.
SendinBlue allows you to segment your email subscribers based on clicks and several other factors, making it possible to send highly targeted messages to your subscribers.

3. Drag and Drop Email Editor

SendinBlue comes with an intuitive drag-and-drop email editor. You can choose from a variety of pre-set elements to customize your email, such as:

Signature: You can add a custom signature to every newsletter you send.
Logo: Adding your company logo is simple and painless. This enables you to stand out from the crowd and create an email that looks professional and modern.

4. Send SMS Messages

Another excellent feature that further adds to the value of SendinBlue is the SMS messages you can send out via your account.
This feature can be used to promote your email campaigns, but it can also be used as a mere update tool to inform customers about important news, events, and promotions.

5. A/B Testing

A/B testing is an essential marketing tactic that can boost your email’s deliverability, increase open rates and bring in more revenue. A/B testing is a must-have for advanced email marketers who want to maximize their email’s revenue and profits.
SendinBlue comes with a built-in A/B testing tool. This enables you to test two versions of your email and see which one performs better.
Apart from A/B testing for email campaigns, SendinBlue also offers A/B testing for other features, such as different subject lines, templates, and more.

6. Email tracking and reporting

With email tracking, it’s possible to see how people view and interact with your emails. This helps you know what works and what doesn’t in terms of layout and design, as well as the content in your emails. Once you have this data, it will be possible for you to make changes in order to increase engagement and deliver better results for your campaigns.
You can also track open rates from different email lists, and track locations with campaign results.

7. Email Bounce Management

Another important aspect of email marketing is bounce management. When your outbound emails bounce, this has a negative impact on your deliverability and opens you up to more spam complaints.
SendinBlue offers a very convenient tool for bounce management. The tool allows you to see which emails bounced and why they bounced. This makes it possible to fix the issue and prevent future bounces, but more importantly, the email bounce management feature also keeps track of your average email bounces, which might cause you to lose a significant amount of money in terms of deliverability and complaints.

Sendinblue Pricing

Sendinblue offers a free plan with 3 premium plans for those who want to access more and advanced features.

Here below are the Sendinblue pricing plans:

Sendinblue review - pricing

1. Free Plan

Just like Getresponse, Aweber, and Moosend, Sendinblue is a freemium email marketing tool out there.

That means you can sign up and use their software for free without making an upfront investment.

The free plan allows you:

to build unlimited subscribers and email lists,
send 300 emails a day – including transactional emails,
use their drag-and-drop editor to build and send email campaigns,
segmented and manage your list with their built-in CRM,
build automated email workflow and send drip campaigns to your subscribers to up to 2000 contacts and much more.

2. Starter Plan

If you want to access more and advanced features than what you get in their free plan, SendinBlue offers a starter plan that costs $25 per month. This plan removes only the daily email-sending limit.

Sadly, you still have certain limitations such as:

no access to chat and phone support,
email automation limited to 2000 subscribers,
basic email reporting,
no access to their Facebook ad tool for ad management,
no access to their landing page builder tool,
No A/B testing,
Sendinblue branding on your email footer – unless you pay their $9 per month add-on.

3. Business Plan

If you want to take your campaign to the next level, SendinBlue also offers a business plan that starts at $65 per month. It gives you everything in the starter plan.

Additionally, it includes access to the landing pages, multi-user features, Facebook ads integration, and other features that can be used to optimize your campaigns and boost your business.

4. Enterprise Plan

The Enterprise Plan offers access to all of SendinBlue’s features, including over 20 landing page designs, over 10 user access, priority support via chat and phone, and a dedicated email account manager to help you grow your business.

The cost starts at $1000 per month which is slightly higher than other plans and it requires engaging with them first, so they have a better understanding of your needs and give you the best quote.

Sendinblue vs Getresponse

Both Getresponse and Sendinblue offer a free plan. But while Sendinblue doesn’t make a limitation of terms of email contacts or subscribers you can build, they limit your email sending to 300 emails a day. This can be an issue when you have 500 or 1000 subscribers in your email list.

When it comes to features, Getresponse comes with landing pages even in the free plan. With Sendinblue, you need to be on the business plan that cost $65 per month or the highest plan to be able to create a landing page.

Getresponse pricing starts at $19 per month (compared to Sendiblue – $25 per month) with more features access than Sendinblue.

That being said, Getresponse is a winner.

Sendinblue vs Aweber

Aweber offers a free plan that allows users to build up to 500 email contacts for free compared to Sendinblue which comes with zero subscribers limitations.

Just like Sendiblue, Aweber comes with an email-sending limit on their free plan. But once you upgrade to their premium plans, this limitation gets lifted.

But while Aweber doesn’t have email automation limitations Sendinblue set a 2000 subscribers limit to their starter plan and users have to pay their hefty $65 per month to get their limitation lifted.

Sendinblue comes with a built-in CRM and Facebook ad management tool which is missing on Aweber.

Since you get more features with your premium subscription with Aweber, in my opinion, Aweber is the winner here.

Sendinblue vs Mailchimp

Both email marketing companies are solid and robust email marketing service providers. They offer free plans. While Mailchimp limits the number of subscribers on the free plan to 2000, Sendinblue offers unlimited email contacts or subscribers.

Both tools offer transaction email with cart recovery capability.

But while Sendinblue offers a CRM for list management and advanced segmenting, Mailchimp is missing it.

But something Mailchimp has that is missing on Sendinblue is their website builder – that is a new feature they introduced recently.

My only grip with Mailchimp is their strict affiliate policy – making it not a good option for affiliate marketing.

That being said, if I was to choose, I will choose Sendinblue over Mailchimp as an affiliate marketer.

Sendinblue alternatives

Talking about Sendinblue alternatives, here are the better alternatives:

Getresponse – if you want an all-in-one email marketing tool. This is a perfect tool for both e-commerce owners and affiliates.

Systeme.io – Systeme.io is an all-in-one marketing tool and not a standard email marketing tool. This is the best platform if you are looking for more than an email marketing tool to run your online business.

I hope you found my SendinBlue review helpful.

I am using Getresponse. Tell me in the comment section which email marketing tool you use.
